Today's Child Learning Centers

Today’s Child Learning Centers, Inc. is the largest privately-owned provider of early childhood education in Delaware County. In operation since 1989, Today’s Child has fourteen locations: our five full-service early learning centers are located in Springfield, Media, Primos, Sharon Hill and Colwyn.

We provide school age enrichment programs in the Kindergarten Center and four elementary schools in the Southeast Delco School District. In the Penn Delco School District we provide Kindergarten and School Age Enrichment Programs at Aston, Coebourn and Pennell Elementary Schools. Today’s Child also provides before and after care in partnership with the Delaware County Intermediate Unit’s Southeast Regional Head Start Center in Sharon Hill. Today’s Child was also selected as the provider of choice for Mercy Catholic Medical Center when that organization anticipated on-site child care for their employees’ children.

From its inception, Today’s Child has been recognized for their contributions to the field of early childhood education. We were singled out in 1998 by then-Governor Ridge to help kick off his successful “Read to Succeed” literacy program. Two of our schools were among only five in the entire state chosen to offer the Department of Education’s new CyberStart Program, an educational program for preschoolers which introduced them to technology.

Today’s Child, in collaboration with the Delaware County Intermediate Unit and three other early learning centers, were selected to be among the first in the state to administer a new early learning initiative, “PreK Counts”. This pilot program offers free, high quality education to three and four year olds in the State of Pennsylvania. Members of our organization have also helped to plan and sat as Chairmen at the School Age Care Alliance’s National Convention held in Philadelphia.

Today’s Child is committed to exceeding the standards of high quality education. All of our sites are active participants in the Keystone Stars Quality Initiative Program established by the Department of Public Welfare. Our programs meet the highest quality levels in the areas of structure, programming and organization. All staff members participate in ongoing educational opportunities even after receiving their degrees in Early Childhood Education.

Our staff members are dedicated to professional development through the hosting of trainings, attendance at local, state and national conferences and participation in on-going education programs. Our goal is the success of the family and in turn the success of the communities we serve.
