Today’s Child strives to be active participants and positive role models in all the communities we serve.

Families with children looking to move into a new area will research school districts and early childhood education centers. The presence of high-quality, affordable child care will entice these new, young families into the community. Couple this with a good school district offering before and after school care and you have a winning combination.

Households with children mean a higher investment in the future and long-term commitment to the vitality of a region. Today’s Child offers subsidized tuition programs allowing families to afford the cost of educating their young children, freeing up money which will then be reinvested elsewhere in the local economy.

Parents are able to work more and retain their jobs longer due to the availability of consistent, quality care for their children. The presence of a new center in a community also reduces unemployment levels.

Today’s Child also participates in strengthening our communities with active involvement in local organizations. In conjunction with Women Against Rape we are hosting a pilot program which will bring bullying prevention education to Southeast Delco elementary schools.

We work collaboratively with Women in Crisis, providing care while the mothers get training and help to overcome obstacles in their lives.

We have also helped families in our communities by providing no-cost childcare services to those in crisis, coordinating food drives for low-income families and toy drives for a local orphanage.

Today’s Child has implemented a Counselor-in-training program for children who are too old to be in care, but too young to be on their own all summer so they have a place to gain confidence and job skills for the future.
