Today’s Child Learning Centers needs your support. Today’s Child is applying as a Lead Agency Grantee for Pennsylvania Pre K Counts. Today’s Child was originally the largest partner grantee in Delaware County at the program’s inception in 2007. The PA Pre-K Counts program is vital to our community as it provides high quality Pre-K for children in at-risk areas. Currently, Today’s Child has three Pre K Counts Centers rated at a STAR 3 or higher, including two centers at the highest STAR 4 level. We are the only provider of high quality early learning in our area that meets the eligibility requirements to provide the Pre-K Counts program in the Southeast Delco and William Penn School Districts.

As of today we provide 106 children in the area with high quality early learning enabling them to have the skills necessary to enter kindergarten ready to learn. In addition, there are over 250 children on our waiting list to receive the quality education the Pre-K Counts program can provide. The areas where our centers are located are home to some of the most at-risk families in Southeast Pennsylvania. Children in this area are at-risk not only due to their family economic status, but also because of the poor performance of the local school districts. Our strong and lengthy partnership with the school districts serves to stabilize the stream of services and increase the learning potential of the students exponentially. Many of these families struggle with transportation issues, making the need for a quality early education program in their neighborhood vital.

Today’s Child has long been champions of quality education and best practices. We have participated in every quality initiative from Cyberstart of years past to the Keystone STARS program of today. Our programs have attained STAR 4 designations with their very first ERS assessment. Our staff of highly qualified degreed teachers are committed to providing children the best opportunity for learning, growth and achievement every day. Each day all of our sites provide the highest quality educational curriculum to children from birth through age thirteen. We will soon be the only early education corporation in Delaware County to achieve Star 4 at fourteen locations.
