Today's Child Celebrates Week of the Young Child at Main Campus
Many fun activities have been planned for Week of the Young Child 2010
Today’s Child Learning Centers asks Delaware County to come together for children during the Week of the Young Child (April 11-17, 2010). As part of the national Week of the Young Child celebrated across the country, Today’s Child is honoring young children and all those who make a difference in children’s lives.
Scheduled events include:
Police officers and firemen from Sharon Hill Borough will be making a visit to Main Campus on Wednesday April 14, 2010, for Community Workers’ Day. Students will also have “Muffins with Mom” and “Donuts with Dad” as part of a Parents’ Appreciation Breakfast.
The week will be highlighted by a visit from State Representative Nick Miccarelli (R-162) on Friday, April 16, 2010 to read to the children. Rep. Miccarelli is currently running for re-election to a second term in the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
These events will be taking place at TCLC’s Main Campus, which is located at 235 Sharon Ave. in Sharon Hill.
Week of the Young Child, sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), is an opportunity for early childhood programs across the country, including child care and Head Start programs, preschools and elementary schools, to hold activities to bring awareness to the needs of young children.
Young children and their families in Delaware County depend on high-quality education and care, which help children get a great start, and bring lasting benefits to the area. Week of the Young Child is a time to recognize the importance of early learning and early literacy, and to celebrate the teachers and policies that bring early childhood education to young children.
Today’s Child Learning Centers, is an affiliate of DVAEYC, an organization of early childhood educators and others dedicated to improving the quality of early education programs for children birth through age eight.
