Early Childhood Action Day in Pennsylvania!

Today Early Childhood Education advocates are in Harrisburg to meet with legislators

Today is Early Childhood Action Day in Pennsylvania. Thousands of early childhood education practitioners and supporters, including several from Today's Child Learning Centers, are in Harrisburg to encourage our legislators to make a firm commitment to early childhood initiatives in Pennsylvania. Even though you aren’t in Harrisburg, meeting with legislators in person, you can still make an impact on the fight for funding. Use the following steps to participate in Virtual ECE Action Day:

1. Call or email your legislators and the Governor and say:

• In honor of Early Childhood Action Day, I urge you to make quality early education a priority for Pennsylvania.

• Share your own experiences with quality early education (name programs by name) and how they benefit children, families and your community. What would happen if funding was cut to your community?

Programs such as PA Pre-K Counts, Keystone STARS, Child Care Works, Early Intervention, Nurse-Family Partnership, Parent-Child Home Program and Head Start Supplemental keep parents working, contribute to today’s economy, and prepare children for school so they can success in life.

2. Contact people in your network and ask them to do the same!

3. You can also send an email to your legislators:
• Pennsylvania’s Promise for Children has a letter you can customize on their website at: https://secure3.convio.net/paprom/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=413
