Young Toddler Program

In the Young Toddler classroom we have a schedule planned for your child's day which includes large and small motor development, art, music and beginning social skills. Our goals for this class include assisting your child in the process of learning about themselves and others, their feelings, how to communicate effectively as well as fine and gross motor development and the acquisition of thinking skills.

Academically the children are being introduced to the concepts of ABC's, colors, shapes and numbers during circle time. Physically, the children will be working on improving small motor skills by using a spoon to feed themselves, tearing paper, pasting, using puzzles, playdoh, painting and coloring. Large motor skills are developed by practicing rolling, throwing and catching a ball as well as jumping, climbing, hopping and walking up and down stairs. We also concentrate on beginning potty training skills.

In our classroom each child is required to have a supply of diapers and wipes, a sippy cup, a complete seasonal change of clothing and a napper. Nappers are purchased through the center and must be in class with your child on Monday morning. On Fridays it is to be brought home for laundering and returned the following Monday. Please make sure to have your child's name on all of their belongings including coats, hats, etc.
