School Based Sites


Center Director
Works at the school based center in a direct child care capacity. Holds a minimum of an Associates Degree in Education. Plans and implements curriculum for the program, provides tutorial support, supervises children, communicates with parents, supervises staff, communicates with school community and maintains attendance records.

Group Supervisor
Holds a minimum of an Associate Degree in Education. Assists Director in implementing curriculum for programs, supervises children and leads individual learning activities.

Assistant Group Supervisor
Works in a direct child care capacity. Has earned at least a high school diploma along with two years of verifiable experience working with children. Assists in the supervision of children and the implementation of the program activities under the guidance of the Group Supervisor and Center Director.

Community Sites


Curriculum Director
Works in a supervisory capacity. Holds a minimum of an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and has a minimum of two years of classroom experience as a Lead Teacher. Plans and implements curriculum for the program, provides tutorial support, supervises children, communicates with parents and supervises staff.

Business Director
Maintains the licensure status of the center. Maintains children and staff files, creates all paperwork required for the center.

Lead Teacher
Holds a minimum of an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. PreK Counts classrooms’ Lead Teachers hold Bachelors of Science degrees in Early Childhood Education with Certification by June 2011.  Implements curriculum for the program, provides tutorial support, supervises children, communicates with parents.

Assistant Teacher
Has earned at least a high school diploma along with two years of verifiable experience working with children. Has either acquired an Associate Degree in ECE or is in school working toward the degree. PreK Counts assistants must have an Associate Degree in ECE or a CDA. Assists in the supervision of children and the implementation of the program activities under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.

Each school site is staffed by a minimum of a Center Director and Assistant Group Supervisor. All staff members meet or exceed the qualifications set forth in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Code Title 55. Public Welfare Chapter 3270. Child Day Care Centers. Each staff member has on file a PA State Police Criminal Record Check, a PA Child Abuse History Clearance and a current Staff Health Appraisal with Mantoux TB testing.

All of Today’s Child Learning Centers’ staff members must obtain certification in Pediatric First Aid and Fire Safety. Additionally, each staff member must maintain yearly training hours regulated by the PA Department of Public Welfare and the Keystone Stars Program.
