Older Toddler
At Today's Child, our Older Toddler class is designed to support your child’s growing independence and social development, making learning fun and engaging every step of the way.
In this class, we focus on essential self-help skills that set the foundation for future success, such as:
- Potty training
- Dressing and undressing
- Self-feeding with a spoon
- Cleaning up after meals and playtime
We place a strong emphasis on communication skills by encouraging children to engage in verbal activities like reciting nursery rhymes, singing songs, and interacting with their peers and teachers.
Social skills are a big part of our program. We work hard to nurture kindness, sharing, and playing cooperatively with friends, as well as fostering good manners and courtesy in everyday interactions.
In addition to social growth, we introduce foundational concepts such as shapes, colors, the alphabet, and numbers, along with daily lessons about the calendar and weather.
Our classrooms are thoughtfully arranged into Educational Activity Centers that include:
- Block play
- Music and movement
- Dramatic play
- Table toys
- Sand and water table
- Library
Each center offers unique opportunities for children to develop different skills through both guided and free play activities. We tailor our monthly themes to keep your child engaged and inspired, with detailed lesson plans created by our lead teacher.
As part of our commitment to keeping you informed, we provide a daily written report highlighting your child’s meals, potty training or diapering progress, nap times, and any special notes from their teacher.
Today's Child also takes care of breakfast, lunch, and snacks through our nutritious meal program.
For your child's comfort during the day, parents are asked to supply a sleeping bag or blanket for nap time (we provide the mat), a spill-proof cup, diapers or pull-ups, wipes, a full change of clothes, and bibs.
Enroll your toddler today and join a program that values learning, fun, and growth at every stage.
